Publications with partners
In keeping with our mission and vision, EIHR is a proud contributor to the following published works:
Holocaust & Peace
Holocaust & Peace – Lessons from the Past for the Future is a practical guide created by Bosnian educators for teachers everywhere, particularly those in the Western Balkans who work with high school and first year university students, as well as young people in nonformal educational sectors. The result of a multi-year collaboration between EIHR, the Post-Conflict Research Center, and the Sarajevo office of forumZFD, Holocaust and Peace reflects our promise and our invitation to educators to join us in fulfilling this civic mission by strengthening and disseminating knowledge about the Holocaust, learning from a violent past for a peaceful future.
Holocaust and Peace includes a foreword by Dr. Elijas Tauber: journalist, historian, second-generation Holocaust survivor, and a recognized leader in Sarajevo’s Jewish community.
The print edition launched in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 27, 2022 in a ceremony honoring International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Currently, print editions are available only in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Educator's Guide on Holocaust, Mass Atrocities Education and Peacebuilding in the Democratic Republic of Congo
In partnership with PADS (Programme D’action Pour Un Développement Soutenable/Program of Action for Sustainable Development)
Following highly successful hybrid workshops in 2021 and 2022, teachers expressed a desire to have in hand a tool with Holocaust, Atrocity Prevention, and Peace Education best practices adapted to the local context. A DRC Working Group developed, working collaboratively with staff from EIHR and PADS, to adapt international guidelines to local realities. This free tool for educators is available in PDF format in French and English, with a print version distributed in DRC.
Imagine: Reflections on Peace
Imagine: Reflections on Peace is a book, exhibition and short films conceived to encourage discourse and conversation around peace building and ending conflict. It is an initiative of The VII Foundation, which was established in 2001 to challenge complex social, economic, environmental and human rights issues through documentary non-fiction storytelling and education. Find all of these materials, including a link to order the book, by clicking here.
In 2021, EIHR accepted an invitation from the VII Foundation to create educational materials and lesson plans to complement the initiative. You can access the introduction here, and find the complete set of lesson plans in our teacher section. In the summer of 2022, the US Institute for Peace hosted an exhibition and teacher workshop, and you can access that exhibition virtually by clicking here.
